Back In Bahia and Updates Continue

Elysia diomedea exploring a tidepool. Bahia de Los Angeles, 6/25/25

We’re back in Bahia de Los Angeles, surveying beetles on the islands. The traps are set, and we are waiting to pick them up starting tomorrow. Meantime we have been enjoying nature here on the mainland. For example, this morning there was a particularly low tide, so we had a chance to look for interesting invertebrates. We found several large Codium plants that had multiple E. diomedea hiding in them, and it was fun to see old friends.

I have also been working away at tidying up the site. I have moved all of the references into a database, which will make updates much easier. For now, I have updated the full list of papers with an exhaustive list of all papers describing the biology of Elysia species (except for the ones I have not yet found) . The species and subject pages will be updated as time permits.

Thank you for your patience as I slowly get the site updated. Also, stay tuned at our sister site (tdolab.org) for photos and descriptions of the beetles we encounter on the islands.
